Volunteers support every aspect of our work

Volunteering with us, whether it is at public events to raise awareness or helping out with admin and reception work, requires sensitivity and a non-judgmental attitude, and also an ability to respect client confidentiality. Our volunteers are, ‘people people,’ with a positive attitude and a belief that everyone can change their lives for the better with the right support.

Volunteer Training

Volunteer Introductory Course

Our Volunteer Introductory Course is for anyone interested in becoming a CADAS Volunteer. Originally held over the course of a full day at one of our centres it is now available as an online module.

On the course, potential volunteers learn about CADAS, our ethos, how we understand substance use, addiction and change, the work we do and the opportunities and induction process for supporting our work. We hope it will inspire you to want to work with us!

Contact our Volunteer Coordinator by email at juliem@cadas.co.uk for an invitation to take this course.

Understanding and Working
with Addictive Behaviours

Our award-winning Understanding and Working with Addictive Behaviours (UWAB) course is designed for anyone wanting to work directly with our clients in any way.

We are currently running it as a hybrid course in two parts. Part 1 is largely made up of online modules with weekly group check-ins also online. Part 2 is planned as in-person small-group sessions to put the theory learned in Part 1 into practice and develop our therapeutic skills.
