We’ve been training volunteers to support our clients for over 20 years.
- Do you want to support others to live well?
- Are you able to be empathetic and compassionate?
- Are you willing to commit to a challenging journey of self-discovery so you can work therapeutically with those in recovery?
- Can you volunteer your time for at least a year after training?
The course includes:
- Building relationships
- Self-awareness and reflection
- Use of therapeutic models such as Mindfulness, Transactional Analysis, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming & Motivational Interviewing
- Working within an ethical framework
- Therapeutic skills practice
Applicants will also need to complete our Introduction to Volunteering course which includes drug & alcohol awareness as well as Safeguarding training (both available online) as well as an enhanced DBS check.
No personal experience of drugs or alcohol necessary. If you have been dependant on drugs or alcohol you must be in long-term stable recovery before you can start the course.
