What’s the format?
It’s an inspiring 45 minute virtual briefing where the CADAS team serves up the latest news about our work, our current services and how our support is tackling the impact of addiction. The last 15 minutes will be open for questions and a chance for people to have a conversation. Once you have registered for the session you will receive an ID and passcode to access the presentation via Teams.
What does CADAS do?
CADAS (Cumbria Addictions: Advice and Solutions) is a charity providing support for individuals, family members, and carers affected by addiction across the county. We support anyone who feels their addiction or substance use is problematic. Addiction affects people in all walks of life and is more common than many people think, but we believe everyone is capable of change.
How CADAS help people struggling with addiction
CADAS can help clients uncover the reasons for their substance use and find other safer, healthier, more effective ways to manage their mental health. Our clients learn to live in a more resourceful, satisfying way without relying on substance or behavioural addiction. CADAS support services are based on 1-1 recovery support which can take place online or face to face and always with an experienced, qualified coach.
Preventative services for addiction and dependency
We deliver both responsive and preventative services. We support adults and young people with dependency issues as well as affected others. We deliver educational workshops in schools and youth clubs, to teachers and those working in the health and social care sector, and to employers as part of our awareness-raising role.
CADAS at Work
Our CADAS at Work service helps businesses to support and retain their workforce, comply with regulations and maintain their reputation. CADAS at Work offers a suite of training and support packages which can be tailored to meet the needs of your business and employees, including bespoke support for employees struggling with an addiction or dependency who are at risk of jeopardising their employment. All the services we offer are compatible with existing EAP provision. Research shows supportive employers have higher retention rates and lower sickness levels.
We look forward to seeing you at our first CADAS coffee break of 2025!
