Phased in between September 2020 and May 2021, RSE (Relationship and Sex Education) is becoming a mandatory subject in the curriculum. As a teacher you might be looking ahead and realising that you have not got anything in place yet to meet this new challenge but the important message is – don’t panic! CADAS can help you and deliver high-quality drug and alcohol education for you at very limited cost – and we have a simple solution…
We want to work with schools to deliberately hold a ‘mufti day’ that covers the cost of your future drug and alcohol awareness training. Our plan would be to provide you with curriculum-based, smoking awareness resources for you to use some time during ‘Stoptober’ or on ‘National No Smoking Day’ in March. (Photo shows a No Smoking Day event in Workington Library in 2020.)
In turn, your pupils would raise funds for CADAS.
As a school, you can then use that money to cover the cost of CADAS delivering high-quality drug and alcohol awareness training. We have bespoke lessons (in line with the RSE curriculum) that we can deliver to different year groups ranging from Years 6 to 11.
Sample topics might be: general drug and alcohol awareness, the teenage brain and addiction, the dangers of inhaling volatile substances and information about the effects of energy drinks.
Our promise – If you run a mufti day for us, regardless of what you make, we will deliver a session to your entire year group of choice.
For more information about how CADAS can support you to deliver high quality and meaningful lessons as part of the RSE curriculum please email us or contact our North Service Manager, Emma, on 07745 266555.
School delivery slots will be limited and booked on a first come first served basis!
