How do we use your donations?
This is a question that is asked a lot to charities. Did you know that we need to bring approximately £10,000 per week to continue operating? We currently operate out of our four centres in Carlisle, Kendal, Workington and Barrow, as well as other local hubs, such as GP surgeries and libraries. This approach helps us to reach as many people as possible, which is very important with the rural nature of the county and infrequent public transport in some areas.
These are some of the ways we use your generous donations:
- £5 could help a volunteer support or advise vulnerable callers over the phone for half a day.
- £15 could provide specialist equipment to deliver acu-stimulation therapy to vulnerable clients in recovery.
- £30 could pay for a 30-minute school assembly to make young people more aware of issues around drug and alcohol use.
- £50 could pay for an hour of one-to-one recovery support work with a vulnerable client.
We support approximately 500 clients per year, including young people from the age of 10, as well as family, friends and carers of people using alcohol or substances harmfully.
Could you make a small, regular donation to us? For just £5 per month, you could pay for a trained volunteer Recovery Coach to staff our helpline for half a day. Please visit https://cadas.co.uk/donate-now/ to donate now.
